As a dentist, I am driven to help people improve their lives by creating healthy, beautiful smiles. I want to ensure that my patients do not suffer unnecessary pain and tooth loss or decay, so I emphasize preventive care and good oral health practices for them to do at home. When patients come in for dental work, it is my first priority to save their original teeth whenever possible and not perform any unnecessary procedures.
I care about my patients because they are so much more than that; they are my neighbors and friends. The blessing I receive is helping my patients maintain, restore, enhance, and keep a beautiful smile for a lifetime.
Education and Continuing Education
I completed my dental training at Case Western Reserve University, earning my Doctorate of Dental Surgery before going into private practice here in Colorado. Before dental school, I obtained my BS at Utah State University.
In order to give my patients the best care possible, I need to stay current on new technology, techniques, and developments in the dental field. To that end, I continue my education, completing over 100 hours of coursework each year.
In addition to continuing my education, I stay involved with the greater dental community, learning from my peers and sharing my own knowledge with them. I am a member of several local and national organizations, including:
- American Dental Association
- Colorado Dental Association
- Colorado Prosthodontic Dentist Society
- Crown Council
In the Office
We have a small, close-knit team that provides superb care on an individual basis. Each person is exceptional, highly dedicated, and trained to serve our patients to the highest standard. My team and our practice philosophy consistently address the needs of the patient, both in dental care and general health. I have discovered through my 33 years of dental patient care that patients manage their own dental health best when they are well informed and well educated by me, the provider, as to their individual dental needs and options for care.
I have been blessed with five awesome sons and my favorite daughter. All of my children live here in Colorado, so my time with them are lively and fun. My home is completed with the most loving Alaskan husky, Zeke.
We do lots of sports and mountain activities like skiing, snowboarding, hiking, hockey, soccer, boating, biking, and just about anything outdoors. We also get some traveling in, mostly road trips to visit family and warmer locations. You can also find me on trails with Zeke.
In the Community
As a family, we are involved in our church here in Breckenridge and help with community activities. I have been involved in Rotary for many years and will soon be our club president. A particular passion of mine is taking mission trips to South America with a few colleagues, where we provide free dental care to those in need.
